Description
The Level 4 Diploma is the WSET's flagship qualification. It is designed to give specialist knowledge of the principal wines and spirits of the world combined with commercial factors and a thorough system for the professional evaluation of wines and spirits. Candidates are required to hold the WSET Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Wines and Spirits to study for the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines and Spirits. The Diploma is viewed universally as the stepping-stone to the Master of Wine qualification.
The Levels

The classes are a progression, beginning with Foundation, an introductory course to wine. Intermediate Certificate, Advanced Certificate and Diploma follow. Each of these levels covers the entire world of wine including viticulture, vinification, and appellation labeling laws, as well as wine-tasting technique. The Advanced Certificate is a strict prerequisite for Diploma.
